The Beaverbrooks Charitable Trust

Our dedicated Charity Team and Trustees are committed to supporting the charities and communities close to our people’s hearts. We also have our own charity, The Beaverbrooks Charitable Trust, which allows us to support charities in many ways, from yearly team donations to Payroll Giving. Our Charity Team focus on funds and donations, and building meaningful, long-lasting relationships with our charities and local communities whilst doing so.

Our colleagues choose the charities & causes closest to their hearts

Our people have autonomy over the charities they choose to support. Every year, each of our teams receive a donation of £100 per colleague to give to the charity of their choice. Through payroll giving, fundraising, volunteering, and sponsoring, we support the charities that are the beating heart of our communities in many different ways. This allows us to build important partnerships with the charities and communities around us.

"We're incredibly proud and grateful for our partnership with Beaverbrooks! Since Beaverbrooks donated a Critical Care Vehicle in 2022, we've attended 611 critical jobs - directly saving lives, thanks to Beaverbrooks' support."

- North West Air Ambulance Charity

Beaverbrooks support over 500 local charities each year

As a result of our colleagues choosing causes close to their hearts, we’re proud to support so many different charities. We’re proud to say that over 45% of Beaverbrooks colleagues donate to charities through Payroll Giving, which means they choose to give to their charities through their pay. When it comes to fundraising, we’re not afraid to get creative in the ways we show our support!

"The partnership between Beaverbrooks and Streetlife has been fantastic. It's been a lifeline to help us to reach out to young people in-need, and without Beaverbrooks, we wouldn't have been able to do so much of the work we have carried out."

- The Streetlife Trust, supporting homelessness in Blackpool

Beaverbrooks donate 20% of retained profits to charities & communities each year, thanks to you!

Thanks to our customers, we’ve been able to donate 20% of our retained profits to charities and communities each year. We do this by matching every single penny raised and donated by our colleagues, having a dedicated Charity Team to decide how we can support charities in the best ways possible, and building meaningful partnerships with local communities.

"Donations from the Beaverbrooks Charitable Trust have enabled us to purchase a site for our Cancer Support Education and Awareness Centre, or as we like to call it, our F.A.C.T family home."

Derby Branch | Derby City Mission

"My team and I have supported Derby City Mission for around five years. It's a fabulous charity that supports the local community through food banks, a community cafe, financial support, accommodation, and addiction issues. We help in the foodbank and café using our time giving that Beaverbrooks gives us."

Operations | N-Vision

"I’ve been able to support N-Vision - a local, independent charity providing services and support to anyone with reduced vision living in the area - by attending the Talking News service as part of the Beaverbrooks Gems reading team for over 5 years now."

Repairs | Marie Curie

"I have been volunteering for Marie Curie for about seven years now. The reason I got involved was because of my personal experience of how the charity cares for people with a terminal illness and their families."

Learning & Development | Samaritans

"I started supporting the Samaritans in April 2019 when I decided I wanted to use the skills I have gained through my roles within Beaverbrooks to help others and give back. The calls we take as volunteers vary from lonely people wanting to hear a friendly voice, to those that are more distressed and are at an extremely low point, which can be hard to listen to and challenging to deal with."

Guildford Branch | Second Chance

"Egilija and I started our journey into supporting our local hospital through all sorts of opportunities that had come our way. Our present charity is Second Chance – an organisation that are there for people who have been diagnosed with head or neck cancer."

Shining a light...

With an aim to create long lasting relationships with all of our charities and communities, we’re spotlighting some of the ways we continue to show our support.

We proudly sponsor the Beaverbrooks Blackpool 10K Fun Run each May

Our former chairman, Andrew Brown MBE, was part of the committee which founded the first Blackpool Fun Run in 1983 and we’ve been actively involved ever since. Beaverbrooks have sponsored the event since 1995 and it has raised millions of pounds for Trinity Hospice in Blackpool and many other charities.

We're proud to be an official supporter of Elmer's Big Parade Blackpool

Supporting Blackpool's first ever public art trail, Elmer's Big Parade brings over 70 Elmer sculptures to the town, showcasing large Elmers designed by UK artists as well as smaller Elmers designed by local schools. Members of the public are invited to take part in the trail and find the patchwork elephants across Blackpool, before each large Elmer sculpture is auctioned to raise money for Brian House Children's Hospice.
